Novel Antibodies Targeting IL-2 for Treatment of Cancer
TS-075174 — Problem IL-2 and its receptor IL-2R are known to play multiple roles in shaping the immune response, including both immune activation and tolerance. Treatments activating effector cells against tumors are undermined by an autoinhibitory loop caused by endogenous IL-2 secreted from activated Teffs. …

Novel Genomic Score for Predicting Survival Benefit with Immunotherapy in Metastatic Cancers
TS-075158 — Problem The global immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) market is ~$60B. However, only ~20% of patients derive long-term survival benefit. The current standard of care biomarker Tumor Mutation Burden (TMB) performs poorly and there is no universal biomarker with robust validated predictive ability. Opportunity A companion diagnostic for identifying patients who benefit with ICI would unlock a large market by improving patient outcome and enabling a pan-cancer treatment indication that helps newer market entrants to better compete with incumbents. Solution Genomic Score that Predicts Survival: We have developed a pan-cancer genomic scoring system encompassing ~170 genes that predicts long term survival with immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI) Derivation: Developed from next-generation sequencing genomic data from 54 Neuroendocrine neoplasms who received ICIs at OSU Validation: Performed by analyzing and scoring 20,563 genomic alterations in 1,662 ICI treated patients with 10 different cancers from a publicly available dataset. (Samstein et al., Nature Genetics 2019). Broad Applicability: NSCLC, Melanoma, Colorectal Cancer, Bladder cancer and Neuroendocrine Neoplasms. Competitive Advantage The genomic score performed better than the TMB score (current standard of care) AUC of 0.87-0.95 for genomic score vs AUC of 0.57 for TMB Predictive of survival in 5 types of cancer including NSCLC Applications Biotech/Pharma companies: Develop a companion diagnostic to facilitate ICI drug development and improve patient outcome that leads to a new pan-cancer treatment indication that competes strongly with established players such as Keytruda and Opdivo which lose patent exclusivity within 3 years Payors/Nationalized Health Systems: Accurately predicting survival benefit helps maximize benefit from expenditure on ICI

T-cells with Enhanced Ability to Respond to Exogenous Ligands
TS-066052 — Novel T-cells expressing the IL-2a receptor to enhance cancer cell targeting.
The Need As interest in cell-based therapies, particularly for cancer treatment, continues to rise, there’s a critical need for therapeutic cells capable of robust proliferation in vivo. Existing methods relying on exogenous cytokines like IL-2 face challenges due to dose-limiting toxicity an…

Novel Antibodies Targeting IL-2
TS-066051 — Novel antibodies targeting IL-2 with the ability to inhibit IL-2 signaling through IL-2 Rαβg to a greater extent than through IL-2 Rβg.
IL-2 and its receptor IL-2R are known to play multiple roles in shaping the immune response, including both immune activation and tolerance. Expression of intermediate-affinity IL-2 receptors by different immune cell subsets determines cellular sensitivity to IL-2. However, the dynamic interplay bet…

Multimeric Notch ligands based on IgM-like fusion molecular structures for activation of ligand-specific Notch signaling
TS-064248 — The Notch signaling pathway is important in immune cell differentiation and maturation. As a result, it has been shown that Notch receptor signaling can promote or suppress adaptive immune responses depending on the particular ligands and receptors involved. A set of native protein-inspired biolog…

Selective Estrogen Receptor Beta Agonists
TS-062681 — According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer for women in the US, except for skin cancer. It comprised about 30% of all new female cancers each year. While breast cancer death rates have decreased over the last several decades, it remains the second leading cause…

Intravenous (IV) Access Port Seal
TS-039406 — A device to discourage IV-drug-abusing patients from self-accessing their IV ports while in the hospital
Healthcare professionals desire a way to tell if an IV port has been accessed while also having the port sterile and accessible when needed. IV ports are increasingly used for chronic pain conditions, but self-access, specifically in patients dealing with drug abuse, can lead to a host of problems…

Six Degrees-of-Freedom Quality Assurance Phantom for Radiation Therapy Linear Accelerators
TS-037968 — The medical physics group in the Department of Radiation Oncology has devised a 6DoF phantom that is the first of its kind to fully integrate multiple routine QA tests specifically for a six degrees-of-freedom linac table.
6DoF treatment tables allow for 2 additional degrees (pitch and roll) compared to traditional 4DoF (vertical, lateral, longitudinal, and yaw) when correcting for patient setup during image-guidance prior to treatment delivery. These tables allow for more accurate patient treatments and could poten…
